IB World School

The International Baccalaureate at Annunciation Catholic School is an exciting addition to our strong school tradition.

The IB program benefits all students, creating a learning environment that engages and encourages growth for every learnerat all levels.

International Baccalaureate does not replace our current curriculum. Students continue to learn traditional subjects, meeting all state academic content standards. International Baccalaureate enhances current offerings at every level and provides a consistent focus and approach to learning.

What is an IB education?

International Baccalaureate (IB) emphasizes creative problem solving, hands-on projects, inquiry-based learning, and community service.  IB students “learn how to learn” by developing inquiry skills and seeking knowledge.  The IB program encourages both personal and academic achievement, challenging students to excel in their studies and personal development.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.

An IB education:
•    centers on learners
•    develops effective approaches to teaching and learning
•    works within global contexts
•    explores significant content

The International Baccalaureate program strives to nurture students who are civic-minded; confident, competent communicators, skillful in problem solving and capable of creative thinking; and who are knowledgeable of our global and multicultural society.
