analyze literature.
demonstrate competencies in writing formal papers, including (but not limited to) five paragraph essay, biography, myth, and structured research paper.

Grade 7

Grade 8

Curriculum Highlights

Students learn to read and answer questions based on comprehension, interpretation, and evaluation.
Students will be exposed to a variety of literary genre by reading novels, short stories, poetry, mythology and nonfiction.
Students will learn literary terms and devices through direct study within the context of the literature they are studying.

The major goal is that students become lifetime readers.
