The sheep of our parish need shepherds more than ever. Media influences, destructive personal choices, demanding lifestyles and peer pressure affect junior high youth. They are yearning for role models and mentors living their faith. Thus I am inviting you to join the Peer Ministry Team for the Junior High Youth Summer Program. I believe you have a story to tell and talents to share that will leave a lasting impression on the youth of Annunciation.
The primary goals of the Junior High Youth Summer Program, “Summer Hoopla”, are to build relationships and establish a place of belonging. With a summer filled with fun events, our job of outreach is much easier.
The Summer Program is viewed as a trial period for you to get to know the junior high youth and find your place in AYM. I realize that some of you may still “carry baggage” from junior high. I urge you to think of the Summer Program as a fresh start and witness firsthand how your classmates have changed since graduation.
What are the requirements of Peer Ministry?
- Accept the role of a mentor and role model for junior high youth and lead by example
- Commit to being chemically free during Peer Ministry (alcohol, tobacco and drugs).
- Sign up for three 1-day Summer Hoopla events or the 3-day Wisconsin Dells Trip.

If you continue as a Peer Minister after the summer trial period, you must attend a monthly Peer Ministry meeting and monthly Junior High Large Group meetings.
If you are interested in becoming a Peer Minister, you need to register online and pay the registration fee of $250.00. The registration fee covers all expenses in Peer Ministry and Senior High with the exception of MEA getaway (Peer Ministers get a 50% discount on these events).
