Catholic Schools Week
As part of Catholic Schools Week, students will be taking part in a service project to collect, pack, and decorate bags of hygiene essentials for Catholic Charities of St Paul and Minneapolis. Catholic Charities is facing a great need for basic necessities to help families struggling due to the pandemic.
We will begin collecting items on Monday, January 25, and we’re asking each family to donate the following, according to your students’ grade:
- Kindergarten: 2-3 small fidget (or other) sensory toys or brain teaser games (must be small enough to fit in a paper lunch bag) OR 2 packages (10 or 12 ct) of individually packed kid-friendly snacks (fruit snacks, raisins, crackers, rice krispie treats, etc.)
- 1st Grade: 6 - 10 bars of mild scent soap (Ivory or Dove)
- 2nd Grade: 10 - 20 COVID face masks - can be reusable or disposable (adult size, with elastic loops, gender neutral)
- 3rd Grade: 5 - 10 pack of hand and / or toe warmers
- 4th Grade: 4 - 8 sticks of women’s deodorant and / or 5-10 pack of chapstick (not lip gloss)
- 5th Grade: 5 - 10 small or travel size Vaseline or other mild scent lotion (hand / face / body / petroleum jelly - your choice!)
- 6th Grade: 8 - 12 pack of men’s razors and / or 2 pack shaving cream
- 7th Grade: 4 - 8 sticks of men’s deodorant
- 8th Grade: 2 packages (10 or 12 ct) of individually wrapped protein bars.
Please note that all items must be new and unused. Students are asked to drop off items in their home rooms no later than Wednesday, February 3.
Thank you for your help in supporting this important project, and we look forward to a wonderful Catholic Schools Week!
