TO ALL CARPOOL PARENTS, VISITORS, AND VOLUNTEERS

Parents using the carpool, please pick up your children by 2:45pm.  Extended Day afternoon day care has recess immediately following carpool pickup.  If you are late picking up children, please park in the east area closer to the Church and walk in to pick up your child.  Visitors and volunteers for an after school activity should also park in the east lot by the church.  Yellow and Orange cones are placed in the parking lot at 2:45PM each weekday afternoon  to make a safety zone for our Extended Day children while they have their afternoon outdoor time.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, helping to keep our children safe for play.

Extended day staff and students enjoy time outside.  With colder days upon us, please send your children with winter gear (hats, mittens, jackets, and boots as necessary).  Thank you!

Welcome Back! EXTENDED DAY NEWS

During the afternoon there are two times to have a snack, the first at 2:30 is provided by Extended Day; the second at 4:30 should be brought from home.

Extended Day tries to spend time outside each day, weather permitting. It is important to have clothing appropriate for the weather that day. This becomes more important in the winter months. Also, please bring a change of clothes in the event of an "accident".

Extended Day is open in the afternoon until 6PM. Any parent and/or authorized person arriving after 6PM must pay a fine of $5 for every five minutes or portion thereof. For example, at 6:01 PM the fine is $5, at 6:06PM the fine is $10 and so on. The fine is to e paid directly to the staff person staying late that day. This is directly from the Extended Day handbook.

It is important to let us know if your child is going to be absent from Extended Day. A phone call before the schedule date is all we need. We do check with the office for notes, but calling us at 612-824-9993 x210 is your best option.

After School Activities - Please Let Us Know  

There are many new activities after school that the Extended Day students are participating in.  We are asking you to have your child check in with us after school, before going to their activity.  To help keep our information up-to-date, please click here to complete and return an After School Activity form.  Thank you!

We would like to go over a few reminders for Extended Day:

1. Please call and notify Extended Day if your child will not be attending on a scheduled day. You may send notes to school for the teachers upstairs but we rarely see them down here. You can also email Jeff at jeff.wisdom@annunciationmsp.org

2. A spare set of clothes and shoes are also a good idea. There are all kinds of a "accidents". In the winter children get wet through their snowpants and boots.

3. We provide a 2:30 snack everyday and if your child is here until 4:30 please bring a snack from home. Parents have done this several ways, either elave a box of snack in their lockers, designate a pocket in their backpacks for 4:30 snack or send it each day in a lunch bag.

4. We do homework each day from 2:45 to 3:30, this is time for students to read or work on projects along with daily math and phonics homework. (3rd grade geography).

5. The children may bring toys from home to play with, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh, and baseball (trading cards) may be brought to school but may not be traded. The children are also responsible for their own toys.

6. Every day the children will have the option to have free choice, go to the gym, an art project, and the All-Star room.

7. Check mailboxes for statements and calendars. Please remember to sign your children out daily.
