2008 Improv Schedule

We are moving into the production stage of the 2008 Improv Show, New Attitude. At this point rehearsals will go until 5:00 p.m., and in some cases, additional rehearsal days will be set.

We will be working with individual groups the next several days. Students should know what specific group of skits they are in. They are required to be here on the 2 days their skits are being directed. Each practice will go until 5:00, Monday – Friday, with the exception of next Tuesday.

Mon, 4/7 Last Line skits (New Attitude)

Wed. 4/9 Family Vacation

Thurs. 4/10 Classic T.V.

Fri. 4/11 50’s Songs

Mon. 4/14 Fairy Tales – 5 years later

Tues. 4/15 Board Games

We will post an update after rehearsal on the 14th. If a cast member can not make it to a specific rehearsal, they should let us know in advance. We will cover for them and try to get them into their skit at a later date.

IMPROV INFORMATION

ATTENDANCE

Improv meets Monday, Thusday, and Friday from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. Later in the spring, as the time of the production approaches, the time and dates of the classes may be extended. This additional time frequently will not include the entire cast, only those in particular scenes which we are working on. We understand that your children participate in a variety of activities, and have diverse commitments, academics being of primary concern. However, we want your child to understand from the onset the time involvement in this class and make every effort to attend. If your child must be absent on a day he or she is in school, we would like a note, e-mail, or voice mail message from you, the parent. This helps us in planning class activities. We will post any changes in class times.

PERFORMANCES

The Improv class culminates with a show that your children have created. The show highlights the various skills we have worked on.

COSTUMING

The traditional basic costume for the improvisation show is for the boys: black turtlenecks, black pants and black socks. The girls wear black turtlenecks, black tights and black shorts. We encourage you to shop for these now, as later in the spring they are frequently not available, especially black turtlenecks. We also encourage you to label all costuming. Students create much of the costuming for their individual scenes. When we begin to work with costumes, we ask students to bring a duffel bag for their costumes and props.
