Annunciation Church and School began on April 5, 1923 when the building opened. This building was to serve as church, school and convent until the erection of a separate church and
convent. Annunciation School was the creation of Father Francis Lang and the founding members of the parish. The continuing existence of the school depended upon the commitment
of the Dominican nuns of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, who from 1923 to 1992 provided teachers and staff at the school. In that 71 year period, more than 320 Dominican sisters served at
Annunciation.
The school opened September 10, 1923 in this new building with an enrollment of 72 pupils.
Lay teachers now play a crucial role in the success of our school. After World War II the
west wing was added to the school and enrollment boomed with more than 1100 students.
Today our enrollment is about 420 for Kindergarten through grade 8. Lay teachers now play
a crucial role in the success of our school. The students and former students of
Annunciation School are part of a large family. Three generations of students from the same
families have attended the school. Our history is long and rich with over 5,000 graduates
in all walks of life, in all parts of the world.
