What is “A Day in ‘The Life’”?

Sep 23rd, 2016

Pope Francis often implores us to work to eradicate all forms of human trafficking, including sex trafficking. “How I wish that all of us would hear God’s cry: “Where is your brother?” (Gen 4:9). Where is your brother or sister who is enslaved?” (Pope Francis, 11/24/13, no. 211)

Come join us on Saturday afternoon, October 15th, from 2:30 to 4:45, in the Annunciation Community Room where you will have the opportunity to learn about sex trafficking here in the Twin Cities Metro, pray in solidarity with those working to bring this form of enslavement to an end, and do something to help.

We welcome both Terry Forliti, acting director of Breaking Free, along with a sex trafficking survivor. Through story, the Breaking Free produced DVD, “A Day in ‘The Life’”, and audience engagement we will learn how sex effects its victims.

Through live streaming we will pray with Sisters, Associates and many friends of the Congregation of St. Joseph, as we gather simultaneously in a variety of volunteer opportunities and geographic locations across the country, at the beginning of the 10th anniversary year of the founding of the Congregation of St. Joseph.

To do something to help, you are invited to make a free will offering for Breaking Free of any of these items: non-perishable food, a variety of personal care products such as large bottles of shampoo, body wash, toothpaste and brushes, new bath towel sets, backpacks, durable shopping bags, food and drug store gift cards, gas cards, bus cards and tokens, cash, checks payable to Breaking Free.

Beverages provided. Feel free to bring a snack to share. This program is planned for a mature audience.
