What does it mean to be an IB World School?

Feb 10th, 2017

Annunciation is currently in its second year as an IB candidate school.  Next year, we will seek full authorization to be recognized by International Baccalaureate Organization as an IB global school.  The IB Primary Years Program (PYP) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The PYP is not a curriculum but rather it is a framework for organizing our curriculum, state standards and delivering instruction. Each grade level organizes their curriculum around the six Transdisciplinary Themes. At Annunciation, students are encouraged to be inquirers who make strong connections, use conceptual thinking, use critical thinking, collaborate with others, consider others perspectives, reflect on their thinking and take action.
