Weekly Update: Middle School

Mar 19th, 2015

As we begin 3rd Trimester, please take a moment to review your child’s uniform. Take a look at the shirts, pants, and skorts your child wears and ensure they are in good condition and appropriate length. Thank you for your attention to this.

8th grade bios

Hopefully 8th grade parents received a permission form about featuring 8th grade bios in the upcoming Weekenders. If your student would like to fill the form out online, please use this form.

I went to the two 8th grade classrooms and handed out the form and explained the process. Your child will need to return the completed form withpermission from you for their bio & school photo be included in the Weekender.

As of the date of this email being sent, I have received 1. Let’s get these turned in so we can share information about our departing 8th graders.

NWEA MAP Testing

We will complete MAP testing at the end of April. The students will participate in the test similar to what they did in the fall. Teachers are taking these scores and using them to determine placement next year (6th and 7th graders) as well as determine curriculum needs for the students to impact instruction.

Earth Day Service Project

The Middle School would like to invite students to participate in an Earth Day Service Project this year. On April 22nd, we are inviting students to walk or bike to school. We will have Ambassadors and Student Council members outside to help facilitate this. Look for more information to come with specific details in the near future.
