Summer Jazz Camp

May 1st, 2015

Monday – Friday June 15-19, 2015
9am-12 noon

This summer grab your instrument and experience the fun and excitement of improvisation and playing jazz! Dick Danaher would like to invite you to join them to explore the amazing world of jazz. Students will learn 4-6 jazz/rock/Latin standards. Students will also learn to play together as a group, support each other’s efforts, and learn the basics of improvisation.

All wind instruments are welcome including trumpet, trombone, baritone, clarinet, sax, flute, bass, guitar, piano and drums. A typical student is someone who is in 4th grade through high school and who is really motivated to improve their playing and to explore new music. The more scales you know the better! As part of the music you will learn to play the major, minor, pentatonic, and blues scales that pertain to the songs.

Mr Danaher has been teaching jazz combos since 1985 and has placed many students into the Minnesota All State Jazz Band. He has been the band director at Annunciation for twelve years.

He will also be teaching on Tuesdays this summer. We are in need of beginning sax and trombone students and summer is a great time to start a new instrument.

For more information please call Dick Danaher at 612-722-2949 or email The cost for the week-long camp is $150.00.
