Stand for Energy Equity

Jun 18th, 2016

Caring for God’s Creation & the Poor: “Urgent need to develop policies so that, in the next few years, the emission of carbon dioxide and other highly polluting gases can be drastically reduced, for example, substituting for fossil fuels and developing sources of renewable energy." ~Pope Francis

“For the last year, Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light (MNIPL) has been working to make the connection between racial justice and the solar revolution. We’ve been on the ground in North Minneapolis marketing our Shiloh Solar array, but it’s been tough. Even with a product available to all, there are barriers to participation. People just don’t want to have two bills for electricity. We now have the chance to change the rules by supporting solutions like On Bill Repayment that will make solar available and easy for all. Please sign this petition online and then share this printable petition in your faith community, calling for Xcel Energy, Governor Dayton, and others to act on the importance of making solar energy accessible to all.

We hope you stand in solidarity in support of the energy system we know is possible, one where clean, renewable energy is accessible to everyone, regardless of income or credit score.” http://mnipl.org/take-actioni/take-action.html > Twin Cities > click on link for petition or for more information.
