Principal’s Breakfast: NWEA MAP testing & Positive Climate/Culture

Oct 6th, 2017

Dear Parents,

This morning, we had our first Principal Breakfast of the year. I truly look forward to these opportunities to share all that we are doing at Annunciation to make this the very best place for your children to learn and grow – reaching their “potentiality.” I also appreciate hearing from parents. Many shared some of the great beginning of the year experiences and the excitement their children have in learning each day. Thanks for attending and sharing with us!

Each Principal Breakfast gives us a chance to share, first hand, what we are doing at Annunciation, but more importantly, why we are doing it. As a staff, we are collaborating and learning how to create a learning environment that inspires creativity, inquiry and exploration.  We know it is important to teach academic skills, but equally important to teach social skills as we develop the whole child.

Included is a link to this morning’s presentation. We provided an update on our IB implementation and the amazing transformation we are experiencing. Then I highlighted two areas of focus for this year: NWEA MAP testing and Positive Climate and Culture – Responsive Classroom. Some of the slides include information that helps define these two important areas. While there was a lot of additional narrative provided this morning, I hope the summaries provide a bit more information to help you understand these key initiatives.

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we journey through the year.
