MNSAA Accreditation News
This week, we received our official notification that we have been renewed for accreditation through MNSAA for another seven years! The letter stated:
“Congratulations! On Monday, May 19, 2014, the MNSAA Board of Directors renewed the seven-year eligibility status for the K-8 school program at Annunciation School of Minneapolis. Eligibility will now be extended through June 30, 2021. The Board wishes to recognize the leadership and the school community for the fine efforts in completing the renewal process. We especially want to affirm your school for your dedicated staff, as well as the community’s support of the school program.”
A press release from MNSAA will also be posted to announce our accreditation status. There are a few items we will be addressing based on the feedback from the visit team. Their recommendations included:
- Health and Safety Standard 4.-07: reviewing safety protocols including the front door, visitor check in and a few other areas.
- Personnel Records Standard #6.10: updating and standardizing our records.
- Employee Handbooks Standard #7.08: updating and revising the employee handbook.
- Strategic Plan Standard 8.02: reviewing and revising the strategic plan timelines and responsibilities.
Overall, the core areas of curriculum, instruction, mission, school climate, and others met all MNSAA requirements. Annunciation School should be proud of the hard work completed over the last few years to gather the evidence and documentation for the accreditation self-study and visit. We can be proud of the results as well which affirm the strong education that has been a tradition at our school for decades. The goal is to begin working to build off this tradition and create an even stronger school for decades to come.
Thanks to all who worked, prayed, and contributed to this process. Congratulations!!
End of the Year
It is hard to believe that we are entering the last week of the 2013-14 school year. It has been an amazing, busy, fun-filled year! We had a tremendous Chirstmas program, fun Catholic Schools’ Week, amazing Carnaval, impressive Improv, and many other great activities to support learning during the year. We hope you can join us for some of our many end of the year events to celebrate our successes, including the graduation ceremony on June 3 at 7:00 for our 8th grade class of 2014!
I want to personally thank the staff, students, parents, and community members for welcoming me and making my first year at Annunciation School a wonderful experience. The support and commitment of everyone makes a difference! Hopefully, this is just the beginning of great things we can do together for our school in the years ahead.
Blessings on the summer months ahead!
