Middle School Academic Showcase 2015-16

Nov 18th, 2015

Introducing Annunciation’s Middle School Academic Showcase.

We are proud to announce the second annual Middle School Academic Showcase. The Showcase will provide a forum for students to show their learning through projects centering on history and science. All Annunciation middle school students will take part in our showcase:  6th graders will participate in History Day, all 7th graders will participate in Science Fair and 8th graders will have the opportunity to choose either History Day or Science Fair to showcase their academic talents in their area of interest.

Each Middle School student will present their project to classmates, parents and community members.  In addition, 8th graders, and select 6th and 7th graders, will present to judges for the opportunity to advance to regional and state competition.

Middle School teachers will guide 6th and 7th graders through the project process.  8th grade projects will be done independently, outside of the school day, with some check in points by teachers.

We are excited for students to create a cumulative project that integrates inquiry, communication, research and presentation skills in an authentic platform.

We will hold judging for these projects on Tuesday January 19th from 2:30-5:30pm. Each student (select 6th and 7th graders as well as all 8th graders) will be assigned a one hour block of time where they will be asked to present their project.

On Thursday, January 21st from 3:00-4:30pm, you are invited to see ALL students in middle school showcasing their projects in the auditorium.

Timelines for the projects are available on the Middle School homework page.
