Living Our Mission

Oct 15th, 2014

Our school mission is the foundation of all we do at Annunciation School. As staff, we reviewed our mission and broke it down into parts – our beliefs, the students’ expectations, the school expectations:

OUR BELIEF: “We believe each student is a gift of God, a unique person, entrusted to our care.  The education, development and growth of our students are our reasons for existence.  Each student makes a unique contribution to our school.”

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: “We expect our students to: use their individual talents to the best of their abilities; be responsible for their actions; treat all others with dignity and respect; follow the policies of the school; and contribute to the life of the school, parish and community.”

SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS: “We provide them with: a Christian environment for learning; guidance, encouragement and discipline; love, respect and compassion; and nurture their spirit so they may achieve their full potential.”

As we make decisions and do our work throughout this year, we view our school through the lens of our mission. We have taken on the challenge to build and improve where we can to better fulfill our mission. Much effort is being put into creating the climate and culture to help each child succeed.  We hope you are seeing the results of our efforts, but know that in some areas, it will take some time to have the impact we hope to see. All of our efforts come out of our ultimate goal – helping each child achieve their full potential.

Know that it is our priority to build a strong partnership with you in the education of your children. We are blessed with a vibrant and passionate community that seeks to give our students the best opportunity to grow and develop into the special people God has called them to be. I look forward to continuing the work with you to reach our goals.

Thanks and congratulations! A big thank you goes out to Dave and Kathy Jungquist, Tracy and Matt Moosbrugger, and all the volunteers who helped make the first Dancing with the Annunciation Stars such a huge success! It was a fun and exciting event. Congratulations to all our dancers – Jeremie Nichols, Andrea Markley, Christopher Jo, Emily Koenig, Tim Smith and winner of the Mirror ball trophy, Emily Guilliatt.

PRINCIPAL BREAKFASTS: One great way to keep informed is our Principal Breakfasts. The first breakfast of the year will be next Thursday, October 23 at 8:00 in the library.  APO is sponsoring these sessions for parents to learn about the current efforts of the school. There will also be a question and answer session. This first session will provide school updates as well as information regarding our MNSAA strategic plan and next steps to implementation. Hope to see you there!

BOOSTERTHON: Friday, October 24 is the day of “fun runs” at Annunciation School for our Boosterthon. K-2 students will run from 9:00-10:00 am; 3-5 from 10:00-11:00; Middle school from 12:15-2:15.  Please join us and cheer on our students.
