Communication and Partnerships

At Annunciation School, community and partnerships are key elements of our mission. To be successful, we rely on many members of our community to help us reach our goals. Parents, students, teachers, staff, parishioners, and others contribute to the work of developing the young people in our school. Without the work of so many, we could not accomplish all that we do! Thanks to those who step up and help make Annunciation School the vibrant, successful school it is.

Partnerships are another key to our success. We know that you, as parents, are the primary educators of your children. The work we do builds on the foundation your family has laid and helps fulfill the vision and dreams you have for your children. To do this well, we need to be in communication with you. One of the most important communications is our parent/teacher conferences.

CONFERENCES: Conferences are vital to growing our partnership. It is important for you, as parents, to receive an update on your child’s progress. The teachers have the chance to share the growth they have seen, discuss successes, challenges, and thoughts for the months ahead to help educate your child. It also gives you an opportunity to ask questions of the teacher directly and discuss ways you and the teacher can work together to make this a fruitful year.

NOTE: This year, we will be having conferences at the mid-trimester point in the year. By meeting at mid-trimester, you and the teachers can have these conversations earlier, and discuss what they can do to be successful by the end of the trimester. We hope this opportunity to set goals will help students achieve even greater success by the end of the trimester and grading period. We look forward to having time to partner with you and your child to reach their goals each trimester.

SIGN UP: In today’s Weekender, you are receiving information for online sign up for our fall conferences on October 29-30. This face to face communication makes such a difference. Please make time to attend the conferences and sign up soon to reserve your spot. (Note – we will have a 1:00 dismissal on Thursday, October 30 for our conferences to begin at 2:00).

Breakfast with the Principal:

To continue to build our communication, APO and I will be hosting “Breakfast with the Principal” events. At each breakfast, I will present an update of information regarding the school then provide time for questions and answers.  The first breakfast will be Thursday, October 23 at 8:15 in the library. Details to follow. Hope to see you there!

MARK YOU CALENDARS!  Dancing with the Annunciation Stars is coming soon – October 11 – in the school auditorium. The dancers have been working hard, so we hope to have a full house to vote for them and encourage them on. See the website for videos, details, and ticket registration.
