Level 8 American Mathematical Competition (AMC)

Congratulations to the nearly 30 middle school students who participated in the Level 8 American Mathematical Competition (AMC).

The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics. Students apply classroom skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and casual environment.

Annunciation Third Place – Caitlin O

8th Grade Gold – Ava K-M
8th Grade Silver – Caitlin O
8th Grade Bronze – Joel M

7th Grade Gold – Gordie N
7th Grade Silver – Ben E
7th Grade Bronze – Hannah C

6th Grade Gold – William R
6th Grade Silver – John K
6th Grade Bronze – Charlie S

In addition, William R earned the Certificate of Achievement.  This is awarded to students in grade 6 or below who scored over a 15 on the AMC 8.
