Hispanic Heritage Month

Sep 27th, 2018

This week we highlighted Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month at our Monday morning meeting. Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the cultures and contributions of Americans whose families and ancestors come from Mexico, Spain, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

There are around 54 million Hispanic and Latino people in America, and we are using this month in our school to learn more about their cultures. While we celebrate people from all of the Spanish-speaking countries during this time, it is important to remember that every Latino person and family are unique.

At our Monday morning meeting, we highlighted the diversity and uniqueness of the Spanish-speaking members in our Annunciation community. Some of our Spanish-speaking students shared a little bit about their heritage, and what makes their family unique. We would also like to continue to highlight the Spanish-speaking members of our Annunciation community this month.

If there are any parents or family members from our Spanish-speaking families who would like to come and share their experiences with our students, we would love to have guests.
