Good News!

May 28th, 2019

In addition to our news last week, sharing our Groves Literacy Grant, our successful Auction and Fund-a-Need, and our partnership with AgraCulture for our lunch program, Annunciation has been blessed with more partnerships to help us live our mission and vision. With the volunteer help from our parents, Courtney Dingman and Maren Christenson, along with our staff, we applied for several grants to support learning at Annunciation. We are happy to share that we received two grants for next year!

Austin Family Foundation Grant:

Annunciation has received a grant to extend the inquiry education that has begun in our elementary through the middle school years. The grant will allow us to provide teacher training, collaboration for staff, and additional resources to continue to develop curious, life-long learners – living our vision to foster each child’s potential to create a better world through faith, virtue, knowledge, and service to others.

We are so grateful to the Austin Family Foundation for their support of our school. We had previously received a grant to create a sensory-friendly school environment for all students. The grant allowed us to change the bells, add a sensory room, provide flexible furniture in our classrooms and other resources to assist students in their learning.

Thank you to the Austin Family Foundation – we are blessed!

CenturyLink Teachers and Technology Grant:

Annunciation is also the recipient of a CenturyLink Teacher and Technology Grant. Mrs. Letwin Burns helped us apply for a grant to enhance learning and creativity by integrating technology in our Creative Arts program.

The grant will fund LEGO Boost kits and iPads for Creative Arts. Students will get the chance to learn about sound waves, music theory, instruments, and coding through the LEGO Boost kits.  These kits provide students with hands-on learning, building and coding a guitar as well as other models as part of the kit. We are so excited to keep growing technology in Creative Arts! Thank you to all involved in the grant writing process and to CenturyLink for this amazing grant!

We are truly a blessed community to have the many partners assisting us in forming our young people who will become the leaders of tomorrow.  Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
