Finals & Goodbyes

Jun 5th, 2014

Dear Middle School Parents,

Can you believe that the end of the school year is here?  As I listen to the sixth and seventh graders clean out their lockers, it seems like only a few weeks ago that they were just finding their feet.  Now we send them off for the summer, older and wiser.  What a year it’s been – we’ve welcomed wonderful new teachers and a new principal, weathered (literally) record high and low temperatures, and celebrated many middle school accomplishments.  We are so very proud of your children and their place in our community.

These past two weeks have been a flurry of finals and fun.  Yesterday, middle school students enjoyed a surprise pizza lunch and an ice cream sundae bar while participating in an afternoon of entertaining events after their last few finals.  Today they’re off to Brunswick Zone for their end-of-the-year field trip.  They studied and worked especially hard to prepare for their finals and deserved a treat!

Congratulations again to our eighth grade graduates!  Their poise and passion were clear on Tuesday as their talents shone through during graduation Mass and the evening ceremony.  We wish them our very best as they head forth to high school and beyond.  They will always be part of the Annunciation family.

Finally, I wish to extend my personal gratitude for an amazing twelve year career at Annunciation.  When I began teaching fourth grade just after college, I did not realize what a warm and welcoming community this was; that quickly became apparent!  I have gained so much from my colleagues, students, and Annunciation families.  I will carry these memories and life lessons with me as I move on.  Thank you!

Kindest Regards,
Christine Kelash
