DeLaSalle High School Open House, January 16

Jan 10th, 2019

On Wednesday, January 16, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., the staff and students of DeLaSalle High School host an Open House for prospective students and their families.  Easily the fastest-growing Catholic high school in the Upper Midwest, DeLaSalle is currently the third largest Catholic high school in Minnesota.  DeLaSalle’s enrollment of 750 students is its largest in 47 years, up 30 percent in the past nine years alone.

DeLaSalle received more than 400 applications for 200 spaces in the ninth grade last year, and the school looks to fill 175-200 spaces in the Class of 2023. Currently, DeLaSalle draws students from over 125 Twin Cities grade schools, from up to 30 miles away in all directions.   DeLaSalle has been centrally located on historic Nicollet Island since 1900. School busing is available from most areas of the Twin Cities.

Budgets are balanced and the school is in strong financial condition.  Just two years ago, DeLaSalle opened a new $8.8 million addition and the new Richard Schulze Center for Innovative Learning with over 10,500 square feet of new and enhanced classrooms, the fourth multi-million dollar facility expansion at DeLaSalle since 2000.  This project is funded as part of a $17 million capital campaign at DeLaSalle; in the first 50 months of the five-year campaign, DeLaSalle has already raised $22 million in gifts and pledges.

The Open House features presentations about DeLaSalle’s heritage as an urban, Catholic and Lasallian school; its college prep curriculum and Guidance program sending 98-100 percent of grads off to college; the 1:1 iPad technology initiative, now in its eighth year; successful extra-curricular activities, $3.2 million program of financial aid grants and academic scholarships, unique Global Advantage Program, connecting students to international academic travel; and so much more….  DeLaSalle staff and many current students will be present to welcome guests and answer questions.
