Battle Royale!

Students at Annunciation are READERS!  Nearly 100 of our students on 38 different teams participated in our annual Battle of the Books!  Battle of the Books is a program that tests the knowledge of students using rounds of comprehension questions.  All of the answers are titles of the assigned books.

Our students certainly know their books!

Watch slideshow of photos.

Congratulations to our first place finishers:

  • 3rd graders - Lynn A. and Paris L.
  • 5th graders - Vivian K-M., Lena P. and Addie A.
  • Middle Schoolers - Francesca C., Mimi K-M.,  and Beth H.

We are extremely proud of the students for their participation in this literacy event. The students were well prepared and “well read”. We also appreciate the help from Mrs. Krocheski-Meyer, Mrs. Moe and Mrs. Austin - thank you.  And thanks to all of the parents, teachers, staff members, and administrators who support our readers. A special thank you to Ms. Stebbins for her amazing talents - we are better because her efforts to provide access to meaningful, diverse and rich literature to all.

Next year promises to be as exciting as this year. Be sure to look for information in early May.  Most importantly - encourage your child to read, read, and read some more.
