Congratulations to our Middle School IB Awards Winners for February!
02/27/2019 2019 Middle School Youth Ultimate League
What is Ultimate Frisbee?
Ultimate Frisbee (Ultimate) is a non-contact team sport, in which a seven-person team attempts to move a frisbee/flying disc into their opponents' end-zone, similar to football. However, when in possession of the disc, a player can pivot and pass, but may not take any steps. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries by hundreds of thousands of men, women, girls and boys.
Spirit of the Game!
One aspect of Ultimate that sets it apart from other sports is its emphasis on “Spirit of the Game.” Spirit of the Game is a spirit of sportsmanship and respect that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Since Ultimate is self-officiated, players are responsible for calling fouls and resolving disagreements on the field in a respectful and spirited manner.
Why Play Ultimate?
Ultimate is a fun team sport, and a great way to get outdoor exercise. It improves hand-eye coordination and athleticism, and above all, it encourages honesty, fair play and conflict resolution through the Spirit of the Game!
Who Can Join The Club/Team?
