10/25/2018 Fall Conferences
We will hold fall conferences on Wednesday, November 7 and Thursday, November 8. These conferences are an important opportunity for teachers to gain insights about your child and to share with you the progress your child is making. If you are unable to attend but would like to have a phone conference with your child’s teacher, please feel free to contact them.
10/25/2018 Community of Life Long Learners
You and your family are a part of an amazing community with a long history of excellence in education, community, service, and faith. Today, we are tasked with continuing this tradition into the 21stcentury. To accomplish this, we chose to become a Catholic International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Being a Catholic IB World School provides us the framework, process, and best practices to stay excellent. Part of this process is a continual cycle of reviewing reflecting, and refining so we can be assured our teaching and learning are focused on our vision and mission. This is central to the efforts of our staff and students every day. It is a promise we have made to you and your family. As our vision states: “Annunciation Catholic School fosters each child’s potential to create a better world through faith, virtue, knowledge, and service to others”.
Be sure to read all of Mrs. Cassidy's update.
Wednesday, October 24 was Unity Day. As a school, we started the week with a Unity buddy activity. Students made paper chains, posters, and more to promote kindness and unity. On Wednesday, we wore orange as a symbol of our unity. This week, we highlighted many of the things we work on throughout the year.
To help us continue to build a safe and loving place for all, we are providing another resource. On the parent page of our website, you will be a form for parents, students or staff to report bullying activity. The report provides a definition of bullying and space to share more details. The report will be received by a staff member who will bring this forward for review and action as needed. We hope that most students, staff and parents feel comfortable approaching anyone on campus to share concerns. But should someone wish to use this format, we wanted to provide another way for information to be shared to ensure a safe, loving and positive place for all.

10/16/2018 Drop-off / Pick-up Procedures at Carpool
Now that we are a couple of months into the school year, this is a great time to review our drop-off / pick-up procedures at carpool.
Please be mindful of our neighbors as you are pulling in to school on Harriet Ave. This is a two-way street, and our neighbors may need access out of driveways and will need the open lane to head south to remain open. If you are parking your car in the parking lot, please do not jump the carpool line and create one-way traffic on Harriet Ave. Please wait until you are close to the parking lot to pull into a parking space. Once in the parking lot carpool line along the sidewalk, please do not pull out of line to leave early. Rather, follow the line single-file to exit on Garfield.

You may have heard or read a bit about Annunciation’s Sensory Friendly School initiative. Our commitment to educating the whole child has lead Annunciation to recognize that the needs of our student population are changing. As we welcome more and more students with unique learning needs such as sensory processing disorders, we recognize that the way we serve these students must change as well.
We have worked with parents to create a survey in order to gather information from the Annunciation community about perceptions of the current sensory environment and suggested improvements, and would greatly appreciate your feedback. A link to the survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/83BNYSZ.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey!
