08/30/2018 IB Update: This Week’s Teacher Focus
Each of our International Baccalaureate (IB) units of inquiry include these essential elements:
Knowledge (MN Standards)
Attitude and Attribute development
This week, our teachers took time to focus on the MN Standards. They revisited all of the MN standards for their grade level and mapped out their place in our K-8 curriculum. They covered science and social studies standards, reviewed math as we sought a new math curriculum and now are moving to Literacy. We are grateful for our teacher's diligence carefully studying each standard using the standards to create units of inquiry that are relevant, engaging, and rigorous.

08/30/2018 Student Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Drop-off and Pick-up:
To help create a safe and efficient procedure for drop-off and pick-up, we are sending home a packet with two car pool number cards for each family along with a few reminders about the process. If each person helps by following the procedure, we will have a faster and safer car pool line for students and families.
Please review the Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up Map (below) and use the number card for all pick-ups. This helps move the line along quicker. Thanks for your help!

08/23/2018 Parent Information Night
On Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30, we will gather in the auditorium together to officially kick off the new school year. Then, we invite you to visit your student’s classrooms to receive more information about each grade level for the coming year.
In keeping with our commitment of building lifelong learners, we want to provide our students with the best tools to enable them to thrive in the digital world.
The IB learner profile strives for global thinkers and international-mindedness, shifting the traditional focus from teaching to learning. We think we can help prepare students to be inquirers, reflective thinkers, and better communicators through a 1-to-1 student Chromebook initiative. A Middle School Social Studies pilot was coordinated during the 2017/2018 school year and was a huge success! We’re ready to launch the 1-to-1 program for all students (grades 6-8) beginning this fall in 2018.
