Annunciation Geo Bee Finalists 2018

We are proud to announce our Annunciation Geo Bee Finalists:
4th grade –  Dylan F and Lena P
5th grade –  William D and Maggie M
6th grade -   William R and Felix S
7th grade -   Evan S and Jude G
8th grade -   Declan B and Zach B
These finalists  will compete in our Annunciation Geography Bee on Wednesday, January 31st at 8:15 in the auditorium. (Note the date and time change.)
The National Geographic Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Students in grades four through eight (4-8) from 10,000 schools across the United States will compete in the 2018 National Geographic Bee.
From our Annunciation Bee, there will be one school champion who will have a chance to compete for a place in the state competition by taking a written, multiple-choice Qualifying test.  As many as one hundred of the highest-scoring students in the state will advance to state level.  The first-place winner from the state Bee advances to the national level, with an all expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the “National Geographic Bee.”
The National Bee winner receives a $50,000 scholarship, a lifetime subscription to National Geographic magazine, a trip, and $500 cash. The 2nd place winner receives a $25,000 scholarship and $500 cash. The third place winner receives a $10,000 scholarship and $500 cash. The 4th -10th place winners receive $500 cash each.
