American Mathematics Contest (AMC) 8 Test

This past winter, several Annunciation Middle School students participated in the American Mathematics Contest (AMC).

More than 300,000 students participate in the AMC each year.   The AMC is a 40-minute, multiple choice exam designed to promote problem-solving skills.  The problems include probability, estimation, proportion reasoning, geometry, spatial, and interpreting graphs and tables.  

These students tied for Annunciation school winner, or highest score in the school

Griffin M (8th), Maggie M (6th), Sylvia H (8th), and Beth H (8th)

These students received gold, silver, and bronze awards for placing first, second and third at their grade level.

Gold

8th grade – Griffin M, Sylvia H, and Beth H (tie)

7th grade – Charlie S

6th grade – Maggie M

 

Silver

8th grade – Gordie N

7th grade – Johnny K

6th grade – Joey K

 

Bronze

8th grade – Michael L, Jacob P (tie)

7th grade – Lily C
