Academic Triathlon

Dec 11th, 2015

Annunciation is proud to offer a multitude of enrichment opportunities. We recently applied and were approved for a new opportunity for middle school students. This opportunity is the United States Academic Triathlon.

Annunciation is proud to sponsor two Academic Triathlon teams this year.  Academic Triathlon teams consist of 4 students and 2 alternates.  Competitions are held on Fridays evenings, four times throughout the school year. The Academic Triathlon uses three different events during each Meet - Mind Sprints, Face-Off and P.A.R.T.Y in a Box (Improv).

Our Annunciation contestants and alternates were selected based on individual results on the Otis Lennon School Abilities Test (OLSAT). Our eight contestants scored in the 99th percentile (nationally)  on the OLSAT, on more than one occasion between 4th and 8th grade. The OLSAT assesses a student's cognitive (e.g., verbal, nonverbal and quantitative) abilities that relate to his or her academic success.
