24 Hours for the Lord

Feb 17th, 2016

Whether it’s been weeks, months, years or decades, Pope Francis wants you to come back to confession.

In announcing his “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative, he said “Let us place the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the center once more in such a way that it will enable people to touch the grandeur of God’s mercy with their own hands.” In response to his call, every diocese in the world will hold around-the-clock confessions from Friday, March 4 to Saturday, March 5.

Here in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, the Basilica of Saint Mary and the Cathedral of Saint Paul will start the 24 hours with prayer and confession services for priests from noon to 1:30pm on Friday. Confessions for the faithful at both locations will begin at 1:30pm on Friday, and end at noon on Saturday. Spanish-speaking priests will be available at both sites on Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
